TURN OUT HOT WATER FASTER FREEZE

Does hot water can freeze faster than cold water? wow, at first glance like a stupid question question alone. This is precisely studied by scientists. Let us analyze a little. Water will freeze in a temperature of 0 degrees Celsius.

But do not forget that water could kill bacteria E. coli in a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius in a longer time than cold water on the coast of New England with a temperature of 15 degrees centigrade which is in the process of becoming ice. From the fact that we can assume that hot water can freeze faster than cold water, under certain conditions.

This natural oddity called Mpemba effect, named for high school students in Tanzania, Erasto Mpemba who first observed that state in 1953. Mpemba effect occurs when two parts of water with different temperatures are exposed in the Subzero, and hotter airyang freeze first. Mpemba observation has been matched by a number of ideas first, like Aristotle, Rene Descartes and Francis Bacon, who also thought that hot water can freeze sooner than cold water.

Evaporation is the most plausible explanation for this situation. When hot water is placed in open containers began to cool, the overall mass reduction occurred simultaneously with the evaporation of water. The less amount of water that freezes, then the amount of time needed is also vanishingly small. But this is also not always successful, especially when done in a closed container that prevents evaporation.

It may be that evaporation is not the only reason why the hot water can freeze faster. The existence of nonuniform temperature distribution in the water could also explain the occurrence of Mpemba effect. Hot water rises to the top container before it goes shu, replace the existing cold water underneath. Movement of hot water rises and cold water down is called a convection current.

Well, if you want to make ice cubes in the freezer refrigerator, it's better to use hot water only for quick frozen, and fast drinking ice ...
